The Third eye chakra in animals

The Third eye chakra is also known as the Brow chakra and the Ajna chakra (the most common Sanskrit name). The location of this chakra is between the animal’s eyes. It is associated with the colour purple and the element of light. Purple is a colour which is known to be associated with all things mystical and spiritual; it’s a magical colour that represents spiritual wisdom and knowing.

Some people associate the Third eye chakra with the pineal gland. The main function of the pineal gland is to receive information about the state of the light-dark cycle from the environment and to convey this information by the producing and secreting the hormone melatonin. Many spiritual traditions believe it provides a connection between the physical and spiritual worlds.

Having a well balanced Third eye chakra means that your animal has a strong connection between the physical and spiritual worlds. They are comfortable and fit in very well with humans and other animals around them, seeming to be outwardly and inwardly calm and well balanced. They are in a peaceful state at most times as they are in the ‘flow’ and letting things be.

Signs of unbalanced Third eye chakras can include becoming very unsettled around strange noises, people and situations. Issues associated with the third eye area include:

  • Headaches

  • Disconnection from their environment

  • Lack of focus and concentration and

  • Eye and vision problems.

You can work with the Third eye chakra through meditating with your animal and using guided visualisations. Choose to work with crystals such as Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Labradorite and Sodalite.

In each of my distance animal reiki and communication sessions I connect to your animal and work through each of the chakras to help bring them back into balance.
